  1. ^ 由于缺乏现代观测手段，从1851年到1855年每年可能出现漏报0到6个热带气旋的情况，从1886到1910年也可能出现每年漏报0到4个的情况。这又会导致1910年以前大西洋飓风季的气旋能量指数大幅低于实际情况。[1][2]
