小长颈龟属（Chelodina）是蛇颈龟科下的一个属, 其命名史相当复杂。[2] 原先的大长颈龟属（Macrochelodina）和窄胸长颈龟属（Macrodiremys）现也属于该属。[2]
亚属[编辑]
大长颈龟属在1985年首次被描述（作为一个新属），其头部和颈部都极长，嗜食鱼，该亚属中最大的宽甲长颈龟背壳长度可达45厘米（18英寸）。[3] 其第一批化石（C. (M.) alanrixi）来自于昆士兰州的始新世地层。[4]
