新几内亚雨燕属（学名：Mearnsia），是雨燕目雨燕科下的一个属。[2]本属物种分布于新几内亚以及菲律宾，目前下属2个物种。[2]
命名历史[编辑]
本属由美 国博物学家罗伯特·里奇韦于1911年描述，其模式种指定为Chaetura picina，即菲律宾针尾雨燕。[1][3]其属名Mearnsia来自于另一美国鸟类学家兼美军外科医生艾德嘉·亚历山大·米恩斯，他在1903年至1907年间曾于菲律宾搜集标本。[4][5]
