基龙科（学名：Edaphosauridae）是群大型、衍化的盘龙目，大部分的身长可达3公尺或是更长，生存于晚宾夕法尼亚纪到早二叠纪。
它们和卡色龙科是目前所知最早的的一批植食性羊膜动物，与阔齿龙属同为所知最早的植食性四足类动物。基龙科的化石到目前为止只在北美与欧洲发现。
特征[编辑]
基龙科的头与身体相比较小，背上具有高大的背帆，可能用来体温调节。除了具有上下颌的牙齿之外，上腭翼骨也具有大量钝齿，可帮助磨碎植物组织[2]。
