2002年阿菲永地震是2002年2月23日上午9点11分（当地时间）发生在土耳其西部阿菲永省的强烈地震，震级为M_W 6.5级^[1]^[2]，震源深度为5公里，最大烈度为VIII（8）度。此次地震造成44人死亡与318人受伤^[3]，数百栋房屋倒塌或严重受损，另有超过万栋建筑受到中低度损伤。阿菲永省的18个区中有8个区受灾严重，最严重的灾区为恰伊，为死伤人数最高者，另外邻近的科尼亚省阿克谢希尔也有灾情传出^[4]。受损的房屋许多为土耳其传统的Himis式建筑，为木制构架与土坯、砾石等填充物组成，抗震能力较差，造成此次地震中大多数的伤亡^[4]。
