聖何塞藝術博物館（英語：San José Museum of Art，SJMA）是位於美國加利福尼亞州聖何塞市中心的一座現當代藝術博物館。該博物館成立於1969年，擁有大量常設展品，以20世紀和21世紀的西海岸藝術家作品為重點。它位於棕櫚圈廣場旁邊。作為北美互惠博物館的成員，聖何塞藝術博物館曾多次獲得美國博物館聯盟頒發的獎項。

聖何塞藝術博物館是聖克拉拉縣最大的藝術教育機構，每年為超過45000名兒童提供服務[1]。常設藏品以美國西海岸藝術家的當代藝術為主，並越來越重視環太平洋地區的藝術。館藏包括2,600多件藝術作品[2]，包括雕塑、繪畫、版畫、數字媒體、照片和素描等各種媒介。

該藝術館由一群藝術家於1969年成立，最初名為公民藝術館（Civil Art Gallery）[2]。早期的藝術家成員包括Rita Banerjee、Pae White 、安·瑪麗·米克斯（Ann Marie Mix）和蘇珊·哈默（Susan Hammer）[3]。該組織試圖挽救一個預定拆除的歷史性建築，並將其改為一個社區藝術館。在擁有常設展品之前，該藝術館更像是一個畫廊。1974年，更名為聖何塞藝術博物館。[4]

該博物館於1994年與惠特尼美國藝術博物館建立了夥伴關係。每場展覽的信息都以英語、西班牙語、他加祿語和越南語發布，反映了1990年代聖何塞觀眾的多樣性[5]。到1997年，博物館已經收藏了約一千件當代藝術作品的收藏，大部分是紙上作品[5]。

2008年到2017年1月，執行董事Susan Krane繼續擴大收藏的規模[6][7]。2017年4月，Susan Sayre Batton接替Krane擔任執行董事[8]。經過50年的運營，到2019年，SJMA已經擁有2600件常設展品。

建築[編輯]

該博物館的建築最早建於1892年，用作聖何塞市的郵局[9][4]，屬於理查森羅馬式建築[10]。建築最初的尖頂和鐘樓在1906年地震中被破壞。1937年到1969年，該建築曾是聖何塞市的圖書館。 隨後，由社區成員和聖何塞州立大學藝術教授組成的美術畫廊協會[11]對該建築進行了改造，然後作為公民藝術館重新開放。1972年，該建築被列入加州歷史地標（#854）[12]，1973年，它被列入國家史跡名錄。

1991年，SOM建築設計事務所為博物館設計了占地45,000平方英尺的現代建築「新翼」（New Wing），用於容納大部分的展覽空間[10][5][12]。Robinson, Mills＆Williams公司負責新翼的室內設計[13]。

聖何塞藝術博物館在20世紀90年代末進行了一次重大的抗震改造，當時對建築內部進行了進一步的改造和重新整合[5]。1997年，博物館的翼樓經過兩年半的改造後重新開放[14]。

館藏[編輯]

聖何塞藝術博物館經過多年的發展，截止到2019年，已經有2600件常設展品[2]。據Artforum報道，高級策展人Lauren Schell Dickens在2010年代末監督收購了加州出生的現場模擬藝術家Ian Cheng和德國動態影像藝術家黑特·史德耶爾的作品[15]。聖何塞藝術博物館還收藏了中國出生的畫家、奧克蘭米爾斯學院的藝術教授劉虹的一些作品[16][17]。

2016年，該博物館從羅伯特·阿內森、佳樂康沃斯、恩里克·查戈亞、路易斯·克魯茲·阿薩斯塔、萊斯利·迪爾、喬治·格羅茨、喬治·赫姆斯、伊塔洛·斯坎加和弗里茨·斯科爾德手中購得了新的展品[18]。2018年，SJMA從雕塑家Louise Nevelson和亞歷山大·考爾德、美國藝術家Andrea Bowers、Russell Crotty、Morris Graves、Lara Schnitger和Terry Winters，以及巴勒斯坦藝術家Mona Hatoum手中購得了新的常設展品[19]。

獲獎情況[編輯]

博物館的「新翼」（New Wing）部分

2007年，聖何塞藝術博物館因其「每周藝術家」（Artist of the Week）播客獲得了美國博物館聯盟媒體與技術委員會頒發的著名的MUSE獎，屬於擴展體驗類[20]。2009年，該博物館又因視頻《公路旅行》（Road Trip）獲得了MUSE公共關係與發展獎[21]。 作品中，一位穿着平台鞋的旅行者在前往加州卡斯特羅維爾的公路旅行中，參觀了一個奇特的地標，並給SJMA寄去了一張明信片。

2017年，博物館憑藉「播種創意」（Sowing Creativity）教育項目獲得加州博物館協會頒發的 "卓越博物館教育總監獎"[22]。同年，該館的《Tabaimo：她的房間》獲得美國博物館聯盟博物館出版物設計大賽展覽附屬材料類一等獎，作者是黃琇（Connie Hwang）。[23]

2018年，SJMA因在社區的工作而獲得越南裔美國文化中心獎。同年，因El Mac與The Propeller Group合作的壁畫《Sophie Holding the World Together》獲得聖何塞市頒發的藝術基石獎[24] [25]。該壁畫描繪了青年移民活動家索菲·克魯茲，由聖何塞藝術博物館與帝國7工作室，以及聖何塞兒童探索博物館合作創作。
