扁肱企鵝（學名：Platydyptes）是一種生存於晚漸新世至早中新世新西蘭的已滅絕企鵝。這個屬由布賴恩·馬普爾斯（ Brian Marples）於 1952 年創建，屬中包含三個物種，所有這些物種都發現於新西蘭南島地區。屬名Platydyptes由希臘語platys（意為「寬而扁平」，暗指其肱骨的形狀）與dyptes（意為「潛水員」）組成。^[2]^[3]

馬氏扁肱企鵝（學名：Platydyptes marplesi ），是屬內最小的成員，種加詞是為了紀念化石企鵝研究泰斗Brian Marples。
新西蘭扁肱企鵝（學名：Platydyptes novaezealandiae）種加詞意為新西蘭。
埃氏扁肱企鵝（學名：Platydyptes amiesi ），是屬內最大的成員，其體型已經達到王企鵝級別。種加詞是為了紀念奧塔哥大學學生A.C. Amies，他於1946年收集了第一份標本，但不幸不久後在馬來西亞遇害。^[4]
