雅各·布萊克是一名非裔美國人。威斯康星州基諾沙市警察逮捕布萊克時，布萊克抗拒執法走向自己車輛的駕駛室，被警察拉斯滕·謝斯基（Rusten Sheskey）從身後射中七槍。

暴亂[編輯]

第一天：8月23日[編輯]

晚10:15，基諾沙縣宣佈進入緊急狀態，用垃圾車封鎖了第56街。晚11:05，警察開始發射催淚瓦斯和橡皮子彈驅散人群，持續了一整夜。[1][2]午夜，暴徒在基諾沙縣法院大樓窗前縱火，點燃了至少三輛垃圾車和一輛手推車。

凌晨2:30，Sheridan路一家二手車店的一輛卡車被暴徒縱火。大火逐漸蔓延，另外100輛車中的大多數均着火。大火還燒壞了不遠處Bradford社區教堂的入口標誌。[2][3]市區西部的商店在黎明前數小時內均被暴徒縱火搶劫。市政中心公園周圍的建築物，包括郵局、Reuther高中、基諾沙縣行政大樓和恐龍博物館等，其前窗和入口處均被暴徒破壞。[4]

白天，抗議者舉行了和平示威。

州長東尼·埃弗斯調動威斯康星州國民警衛隊，保護基諾沙的消防員和重要基礎設施。[7]威斯康星州的美國公民自由聯盟強烈反對這一舉動。[8]

基諾沙縣宣佈實行宵禁，於8月24日晚8:00生效。[9]當晚， 芝加哥城市鐵路在沃基根站以北停運。[10]基諾沙縣41號州際公路和94號州際公路出口被關閉。[8]

第三天：8月25日[編輯]

縣議會向政府致信。州長請求再部署2,000名國民警衛隊，[19]宣佈該地區進入緊急狀態，並向州國民警衛隊調派250名士兵到市里。[20]

伊利諾州法院公開記錄顯示，8月26日，凱爾·里滕豪斯因8月25日槍擊事件，被控犯有一級謀殺罪，已在家鄉被逮捕。他被指派一名公設辯護人，計劃於8月28日出席引渡聽證會。[31]根據威斯康星州法律，[32]他將以成人身份被指控。[33]

8月26日，警方宣佈，槍擊造成兩死一傷，死者分別是26歲的銀湖人[34]和36歲的基諾沙人。[35]一名26歲男性被射中手臂倖存。[36][37]
