M·R·詹姆斯
蒙塔格·羅德斯·詹姆斯 OM FBA（英語：Montague Rhodes James，1862年8月1日—1936年6月12日）是一位英國作家、中世紀學者，劍橋大學國王學院（1905-1918）和伊頓學院（1918-1936）院長，也是劍橋大學的校長（1913-15）。
詹姆斯作為中世紀學者的工作受到高度重視，[1]但最令人難忘的是他的鬼故事，有些人認為他的作品是該類型的最佳。他為新世紀重新定義了鬼故事，放棄了許多前輩的哥德式陳詞濫調，使用了更現實的當代背景。然而，他的主人公和情節往往反映了他自己的尚古興趣，包含古文書、歴史遺物、史跡等元素。[2]因此，他被稱為 "尚古鬼故事"的鼻祖。[3]
