大門樓（Great Gatehouse）是英國布里斯托一座歷史悠久的建築，位於學院綠地（College Green）南側。其最早的部分可以追溯到1170年左右。[1] 它原為布里斯托座堂的前身--聖奧斯定修道院的門樓，位於座堂的西側，大門樓的西側則與布里斯托中央圖書館相對。圖書館的建築設計融合了門樓的許多特徵[2][3][4]。
門樓拱門上的雕塑裝飾是在英格蘭早期使用尖拱的例證。門樓現已列為一級登錄建築[2]。
歷史[編輯]
聖奧斯定修道院創建於1140年。門樓最早的部分建於約1170年，[1][5] 作為修道院的正門[6]，通往內部的庭院[7]。
解散修道院期間，門樓是修道院的倖存建築之一，此後於1542年修道院改為布里斯托座堂。門樓西側建造了聯區。[8] 1906年又拆除改建布里斯托中央圖書館[9][10]。
影響[編輯]
查爾斯·霍登在1906年設計毗鄰的布里斯托中央圖書館大樓，呼應了門樓的許多特徵。圖書館立面兩端模仿了門樓的形狀[3][4]。布里斯托雕塑家查爾斯·皮布沃思，在圖書館北面創作了浮雕[11]，還在門樓南側雕刻了四尊院長雕像，於1914年放置在那裏[6]。
