東亞文化月
East Asian Cultural Month

Time: Every year, 12-08 to new year 1-15 on our traditional calendars (農曆), 0:00-24:00 local time. Use the earliest start time for 12-08; the latest for 1-15, especially when calendars differ. If there is a leap-12 month than we start from leap-12-08. Hope this event still exists after 1300 years.

  • 2025 AD: Jan 6 15:00 to Feb 12 17:00(UTC)
  • 2026 AD: Jan 25 15:00 to Mar 3 17:00(UTC)

Scope: Traditional culture, geography, historic landmarks, histroy prior to year 1900 (including modern related scholars, theories, and anniversaries) of China (including Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Mongolia, the Western Regions), Japan (including the four southernmost Kuril Islands, ancient Okinawa (Ryukyu)), Korea (including North Korea, South Korea, Koreans in North-East China) and Viet Nam. The geographical entries include only the present-day claims of the People's Republic of China, the Republic of China, Japan, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and do not include historical boundaries.

Projects: Wikipedia in any language

Requirements for completion: one entry from each of the following peoples: China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam.

Disputed and Overlapping Areas: There are territorial disputes between the countries; China used to occupy neighboring areas. Just submit the article to any people concerned (e.g. the Liancourt Rocks can be submitted to either Korea or Japan; Vietnam people under Chinese rule can be submitted to Vietnam or China). However, entries whose country is disputed won't be used for presentation.

For convenience, entries related to the South China Sea (south to the Anambas Islands) can be submitted to either China or Vietnam, but it is not recommended to submit the islands south of the Spratlys (the Anambas Islands and the Natuna Islands are Indonesian territories with no disputes).
