霍格沃茨特快列车使用两列火车外观的缆车，每列可运送168名乘客，每次循环往返周期总共可接送336名乘客[27]。每列火车都是由铰接式列车车厢的五个部分组成：一个蒸汽火车头的复制品、一节挂在火车头后方的煤水车，还有三节载客车厢—每一节车厢包含着7个隔间，而每个隔间最多可容纳8名就座乘客，隔间内所安装的并非普通的车窗而是投影装置系统[26][28]。最初的计划是每列火车有两节载客车厢；随着一项乘客意向调查显示，潜在乘客会把霍格沃茨特快列车视为一个独具意义的游览景点，而非单单连接两个主题公园的交通方式，因此在载客车厢的数量方面会有所增加[29]。列车全长70-米（230-英尺），火车头重量为13公吨（29,000英磅），煤水车的重量为15公吨（33,000英磅），每节载客车厢重量为27公吨（60,000英磅）。由于列车采用的是地面缆车设计，因此两列缆车同时出发并同时抵达终点站，以及总是同时到达中途点[30]。其行驶速度均为3.4米每秒（12千米每小时；7.6英里每小时）[26]，并会在路线中途的会车段擦肩而过[30]。

由于两列列车的车头都是朝向霍格莫德村站，因此它们均没法朝向国王十字车站；因此从霍格莫德村站出发开往国王十字车站方向的火车便需要反方向倒退进入车站[31]。两个车站的月台都设于列车的左侧，因此列车只设计让人们从侧面看见；而另一侧的车身既没有火车头模型上的假驱动轮（英语：Driving wheel），也没有车身的具体细节[32][33][34]。列车中超过70%的电缆都是为了让火车外观更逼真而设计的视觉效果和物理动画组件[1]。

这些火车是在瑞士戈尔道（英语：Goldau）制造。瑞士CWA Constructions（英语：Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group#CWA Constructions）为列车的外部和内部进行设计，使其看起来尽量跟哈利波特系列电影中的霍格沃茨特快列车相似[1][24][26]。两列火车基于蒸汽火车头GWR 4900 Class 5972 Olton Hall（英语：GWR 4900 Class 5972 Olton Hall）为原型（作为5972霍格沃茨城堡号），其整体材质为铝和玻璃钢建造。新列车于建好之后采用人工风化工艺处理，使其外观看起来更有年代感，就像一列历史悠久的火车[35][36][37][38]。

旅途[编辑]

主题乐园的游客可以乘坐霍格沃茨特快列车往返位于伦敦的霍格莫德村景区及邻近对角巷的国王十字区。游客只要购买两个主题乐园通行的门票（不限于当天一次性、季票及年票通行证），他们便可以于同一天里出入这两个奥兰多环球影城的主题乐园，并可任意选择一方向的列车旅程[3]。列车会根据不同目的地而播放两段不同的影片，每般影片的长度大约四分钟[26][42]。

从国王十字车站至霍格莫德村[编辑]

国王十字车站景点建于主题乐园的前大白鲨景点的场地上。该车站入口位于乐园的伦敦区，邻近对角巷，它根据真实之伦敦国王十字车站的四分之一比例缩小并复制[10][43][44]。乘客在进入火车站大楼入口处需通过检票，然后排队进入车站大楼内。此时乘客可见到车站上方显示车次状态的机械翻页显示板，沿途还有伦敦相关的站内广告、几堆手提行李箱，以及一家售卖英国品牌的食品饮料的商店。乘客走上一段楼梯后便可以来到国王十字车站的9号月台与10号月台的标志牌中间，此时他们便可以看到前方的人穿过9 3⁄4月台入口的那面墙，此效果称为“佩珀尔幻象（Pepper's ghost）”的错觉。在转过几个拐角之后，乘客便可抵达9 3⁄4月台等候下一班火车。在霍格沃茨特快列车以倒退方式进入9 3⁄4月台，并且让到站的乘客全部下车之后，下一班列车的乘客将会登上3个载客车厢的21个隔间之中[31][33]。

当火车离开国王十字车站时，车厢隔间中的投影装置便会播放猫头鹰海德薇于窗外跟随列车一起飞翔并穿过伦敦市郊的影片。当海德薇飞走后，摄魂怪便会从附近的建筑物上空飞来。与此同时，哈利波特、罗恩·韦斯莱和赫敏·格兰杰会沿着走廊的一侧匆匆走过以寻找食物。火车旅程紧接着会驶进一条隧道，其出口处会路过暴风雨夜中的马尔福庄园。接下来，火车会通过第二条隧道，当摄魂怪进入火车并沿着走廊经过时，车厢里隔间内的灯光便会熄灭；此时哈利波特便会利用他的魔法把摄魂怪击退。在离开隧道后，乘客便会看到鲁伯·海格以霍格沃茨城堡为背景下骑着他的飞天摩托车迎接乘客，并跟大家打招呼。当火车驶进树林后，飞天汽车便会出现于大家的视线并从地形上穿越。飞天汽车于火车驶出树林后便随即坠毁。这时列车再次经过霍格沃茨城堡，在抵达霍格莫德村车站之前，海格于此处向乘客致意[31][33]。
