音特波乐团（英语：Interpol），亦译作国际刑警乐团，是一支来自纽约曼哈顿的美国摇滚乐队。[1] [2]成立于 1997 年，原始成员包括 Paul Banks（主唱、节奏吉他）、Daniel Kessler（主音吉他、和声）、Carlos Dengler（贝斯、键盘）和 Greg Drudy（鼓）；Drudy 于 2000 年即离开乐团，由 Sam Fogarino 取代鼓手位置至今；Dengler 于 2010 年离开乐团[3]，Interpol 并无招募新的贝斯手，而是由 Banks 负责演奏贝斯，形成目前的三人组合。

Interpol 同 The Strokes、Longwave、Stellastarr 等乐团，属于纽约独立音乐场景中的其中一支乐团，也是在 2000 年代后朋克复兴音乐中兴起的众多乐团之一。[4]作品基本上由断奏贝斯、具节奏性且和谐的双吉他，以及小鼓音色明显的鼓声组成，故常被与 Joy Division、Television 及 The Chameleons 等后朋克乐团比较。[5]乐团中并无主要的词曲作者，每位成员皆参与编曲创作。 [6]

1997-2001：成立早期[编辑]

乐团最初由 Kessler（主音吉他）和 Drudy（创始鼓手）组成，在遇到 Drudy 前 Kessler 花了不少时间寻找乐团伙伴。[11]Kessler 在纽约大学的哲学课遇到正专注於哲学学业生涯的 Dengler[12]，并询问他是否会弹奏乐器，Dengler 过去曾是吉他手，Kessler 带他参观乐团排练并让他试着弹奏贝斯，马上发现彼此相当合拍。Banks 曾在学校宿舍见过 Dengler，因其打扮特殊而对他很有印象。后来 Kessler 在纽约东村巧遇曾在法国夏季课程见过面的 Banks，当 Banks 去看乐团练团时，就对当时演奏的歌曲 "PDA" 很惊艳。Banks 起初是以吉他手与和声的身份加入，后为了挽回产生离团念头的 Banks，Kessler 想到让他担任主唱，试唱后团员们非常认可 Banks 的演唱；拥有多年写诗经验的 Banks 后成为乐团主唱与词曲创作人。[12]Banks 承认自己和 Dengler 在乐团组成初期曾意见不合，但告诉 Spin 后来两人“在心灵层面上变得非常紧密”。 [13]

团员们替乐团取名字时并不顺利，Kessler 担心乐团已经累积一些观众，却可能因为没有团名，导致观众不知道下次要去看谁的表演。 [14]最后，团员们决定以国际刑警组织的简称（英语：INTERPOL）作为乐团团名。Banks 在采访中表示，国际刑警组织作为一个大众不太了解的组织，成员们共同持有比单一个人更为广大的使命；那样的概念契合乐团“由四位各具个人想法的音乐人所组成”的情境，不同于过往乐团仅有一两位主要创作者的合作模式。[15]在决定使用 Interpol 前，团员们还有考虑了 Las Armas [14] 和 The French Letters 等名称。

在 2000 年发行 Fukd ID No.3 EP 后，Drudy 离开乐团，专注于参与另一个乐团 Hot Cross 和他的音乐厂牌 Level Plane Records 。Kessler 找来在当地复古服饰店工作、原想结束音乐人生涯的 Fogarino，取代 Drudy 担任鼓手。 [16]除了作为 Interpol 成员，Drudy 当时也是乐团 Saetia 的成员。

2002-2005：Turn On the Bright Lights、Antics[编辑]

1998 年至 2001 年期间自行发行几张 EP 后，乐团于 2002 年初与当地独立厂牌斗牛先锋（英语：Matador Records）（英语：Matador Records）签约。

乐团于 2001 年 10 月、11 月左右着手准备首张专辑 Turn On the Bright Lights。当时乐团身处的纽约正处于九一一袭击事件后的阴霾中，Dengler 在受访时指出，该专辑收录的歌曲是在事件前所创作，原本无意与该事件有关联，然而歌曲无意间与恐攻后的群众心境产生连结，虽然有些疯狂，但似乎是乐团冥冥之间被眷顾，即便发生了如此可怕的事件。[17]

乐团在 Matador Records 发行的首张作品为 2002 年 6 月的同名 EP（英语：Interpol (EP)）（英语：Interpol (EP)），内含 "PDA"、"NYC"、"Specialist" 三首歌。

2006-2008：Our Love To Admire[编辑]

2006 年 3 月下旬，Fogarino 透露乐团已回到录音室准备新作品。在接受 Pitchfork Media 采访时，Fogarino 表示：“（这个过程）正朝着我认为应该发展的方向进行…对此我们可以说是火力全开。” [22] 他澄清乐团与大厂牌 Interscope 签约的传闻，但亦证实乐团将离开 Metador 寻找新的厂牌。 乐团官方网站在 6 月的更新证实自该年年初就在准备新作品，但并未透露确切的专辑名称，也未回应关于乐团即将与某个大厂牌签约的传闻。 8 月 14 日，有许多消息指出 Interpol 已与 Capitol Records 签约，而此消息后由 Matador 官网于 9 月 1 日的新闻稿中证实。

2009-2011：Interpol（同名专辑）、贝斯手 Carlos Dengler 离团[编辑]

相隔半年，Interpol 于 2019 年 1 月 30 日发行 Marauder 未收录的作品 "Fine Mess" 作为单曲，[45]同年3 月 28 日，乐团宣布将于该年 5 月 17 日发行一张新 EP，曲目包括 Marauder 制作期间最终未被收录到专辑中的歌曲；同一天他们发布 EP 的第二首单曲 "The Weekend"。[46]

2019 年 8 月 16，第三张专辑 Our Love to Admire 从串流平台上消失，造成些许乐迷间的恐慌，主唱 Paul Banks 很快于推特向粉丝保证该专辑将会重回串流平台。[47] 2020 年 12 月 10 日，报导指出 Matador Records 终于获得 Interpol 所有音乐曲目的版权。[48]

2020 年至今：准备发行第七张录音室专辑[编辑]

2007 年初，Fogarino 与英国乐团 Swervedriver 主唱兼吉他手 Adam Franklin 另组 The Setting Suns 乐团，后改名为 Magnetic Morning，并于 iTunes 发表一张包含六首曲目的 EP。
