卡西尼地圖
卡西尼地圖（法語：Carte de Cassini），又稱學院地圖（carte de l'Académie），是全法蘭西王國第一幅地形圖與幾何地圖。[1]該地圖由卡西尼家族所繪，主要由塞薩爾-弗朗索瓦·卡西尼（卡西尼三世）與他的兒子讓-多米尼克·卡西尼（卡西尼四世）於18世紀所繪。
地圖上1刻度表示100土瓦茲，而1土瓦茲長864個刻度，即地圖比例為1/86400。[2]
在當時，該地圖是真正的創新與決定性的技術進展。它是第一幅以大地三角測量為基礎的地圖，[3]卡西尼家族四代人相繼工作，歷經六十多年才得以繪成。[4]該地圖並不能精確地定位房屋或是沼澤地與森林的邊界，但若將衛星照片疊加到地圖上，就能展現出地圖道路網驚人的精度。
卡西尼家族的工作甚至在野外留下了自己的印記，即使在今天，我們仍然可以找到被稱為「卡西尼標記」（Signal de Cassini）的地名，這些地名揭示了當時測量的地方。[5]這些參考點對應著無數個三角形的頂點，構成了卡西尼地圖的網格。
如今，研究人員經常查閱卡西尼號地圖，有的在法國國家圖書館地圖部（Département des cartes et plans de la Bibliothèque nationale de France）的閱覽室查閱紙質版，有的在網上查閱電子版。[6]
